The cosmic entities from other dimensions/planes/universes, that are called “Gods” by themselves and their cultists, but are called “Outer Monstrosities” or “Forces Which Are Distasteful And Harmful Unto Life” by their opposers, found a way to affect physically our dimension/plane/universe: they, during astronomical/cosmic events in which they can enter temporarily in this world, infused/imbued/inoculated people w/ an special kind of “ethereal disease”; this disease is responsible for a condition that is being called “vampirism” or “lycanthropy” (the condition of lycanthropes, like werewolves, for example) since ancient times and its respectives legends.

People infected w/ it gains retractable fangs to feed on blood. Also, astronomical events governs the transformation of their “werewolf” forms (in this world dictated by the Moon phases, in this case the Full Moon ); the ƒіrst one is a “war form”, that’s neither a bear, nor a gorilla, but a huge beast; the ƒіrst one is a “chase form”, that’s neither a cheetah, nor a wolf, but a agile beast, for running and ambush. Likewise, their transformation into the vampiric form is also ruled by the astronomical events (in this case, it begins w/ the approach of the night, and ends w/ the approach of the day).

When these “vampires/werewolves” feed, they send to these entities, via their ethereal disease, most of the energy they gather. This energy allows these entities to materialize their interdimensional minions, and themselves in the long-term, in our world.

Some mages created a method to “disconnect” the infected ones from the these entities, so these people aren’t slaves of their machinations/stratagems. The downside of this is that a vampire/werewolf “disconnected” from an cosmic entity is much less powerful than a “connected” one. But the advantage is that these “free” vampire/werewolves can transform themselves into any of the werewolf forms at any time, and are in the vampire form in the rest of the time (including the day). they also mastered three “hybrid” werewolf forms: a “human-war” form (that can pose as a “bulkier” human, but weaker than the “regular” war form), a “human-chase” form (that can pose as a “slender” human, but less fast than the “regular” chase form) and a “chase-war” form (w/ a balanced tradeoff between might and speed).

These vampire/werewolves are immortals, except when killed. Even when they’re countless millennia old, they don’t look like the ƒіrst hominids. This is because every time they feed on their prey, they receive a genetic sample from them; and every time they make love w/ someone, they change bodily fluids w/ them, also receiving a genetic sample from them; this keeps their bodies up-to-date w/ the rest of the mortals, also receiving the main mutations. Also, they have the power to hibernate (just like ticks), waiting a prey to approach to be active again and attack them.

Mortal philosophers theorized that one year in the life of an immortal becomes of increasingly less and less importance, since their lifespan is too long for humans. But that’sn’t quite true. The memory of an immortal is segmented in 3 segments, different from a mortal. The ƒіrst segment is for the “foundation years” of the immortal, since his birth to his early experiences in the life and the coming of age. The second one is for the recent years. The third one is a compilation of the main events in his life, except for his foundation years and his recent years; this one can really be similar to that idea of events becoming less important due to long lifespans. That way, he always knows where he came from, what were the more important things that happened in his life and what he was doing in recent times; in short, never lost in time.

Many immortals have a higher living standards because they can ambush the prey in lonely roads or places amidst the nowhere. So they can loot the money and valuable items they carry. There’s always someone who will buy that stolen items. Later they can invest that money. They’re immortals: they have all the eternity to do this.

Also, in many major countries and urban centers, there’s some occasional association between immortals and the organized crimes. And cases of immortals worried w/ taking control behind the scenes of the institutions of the local communities aren’t unheard of. ˙Ժust read above about the stolen goods. Also, it’s much easier to form a flock/herd when they’re in the control of the organized crime; at this point they becomes cattle instead of prey: they can only call it “prey” when they hunts it. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) changed everything; after all, it’s much better to hunt a prey when the one who’s hunting is in the control of the institution that controls the surveillance cameras and the one that makes the investigation after the attack.

Also, as a trivia, some of these vampires created recipes of vinegar and beverages (both distilled and fermented), made w/ blood.

Also, these cosmic entities  infuses/imbues/inoculates corpses w/ another kind of ethereal disease, also to harvest energy send by them, the same way they do w/ vampires/werewolves; this is responsible for the legends about “zombies” that feed on humans and animals; their mind lose all traces of humanity, being turned into an animal-like machine, that lives to feed. They can hibernate just like the vampires/werewolves. They’re much less powerful than other supernatural beings (but are still deadly) and waste more energy to keep their dead corpses running and healing themselves, so the amount of energy they send is much less than the one sent by vampires/werewolves. Some mages created a method to repeal or even destroy them w/ magical power/force; they also devised a method to convert them for their personal use, and also a method to create their own zombies, who acts like watchdogs w/ an intelligence of animal-like level.
