Harold Yamada (山田), nineteen (19) YO. 1.90m (6ft 3 inches) tall, white, spiky black hair, blue eyes. He lives in the Eucalyptus Hills town, Kuloshian Empire. He walks alone in the streets wearing either his black trenchcoat or black hoodie.

→Harold Yamada (山田), dezenove (19) anos. 1.90m, branco, cabelo preto espetado, olhos azuis. Ele vive na cidadezinha de Eucalyptus Hills, İmpério Kuloshiano. Ele anda sozinho nas ruas vestindo ou seu sobretudo preto ou seu capuz preto.

Despite his young aᵹe (in relative terms, of course), his name isn’t unheard of in the artistic (& its associated upper classes) & scientiƒіc circles, because he’s talented in music, math & visual arts; he’s skilled w/ a wide ranᵹe of musical instruments; he’s skilled in a wide ranᵹe of visual arts, including painting, drawing, sculpture, & photography. Also, he was invited countless times by the departments mathematics of universities, as an independent consultant, to solve baffling mathematical problems that haunted the dreams of the staff of the newly-founded ƒіeld of study of the computer science; problems that appeared in these new computers, that take entire rooms, & use punched cards & tapes; 山田 solved them w/ an easiness that bordered on the tedium for him.

However, 山田 suffered from a light myopia, & had a severe st[utt/amm]ering. Also, the strength of his muscles was barely the enouᵹh to allow him to stand.

Despite of all that, he never enrolled in any university, because he didn’t had any interest on it: he always was able to learn everything by himself, outside the corridors of the universities.

He made the portraits or sculptures of rich families & individuals, or played violin or piano in their private meetings or birthday parties. More than a handful of times, he conƒіded to older artists or instrumentalists:

All of his work as a musical instrumentalist, visual artist, & independent mathematical consultant earned him a very reasonable income, to the point that he could choose a nice place to live alone in Eucalyptus Hills. He didn’t chose the hill («old-money») residential district, because he didn’t wanted to mingle himself w/ superƒіcial born-rich snobs who understand meritocracy as ˙ȷust inheriting the industrial empire of their families. He ˙ȷust wanted to stay away from the noisy segment of the lower classes, & from that kind of poor individuals who’re a mixture of beggar w/ street vendor. So he chose a mid-upper class gated community.

→Todo seu trabalho como instrumentalista musical, artista visual, & consultor matemático independente fez com que ele tivesse uma renda bem razoável, ao ponto de que ele podia escolher um bom lugar pra viver em Eucalyptus Hills. Ele não escolheu pelo distrito residencial da colina (dos «velhos-ricos»), porque ele não queria se misturar com os nascidos-ricos recalcados que entendiam a meritocracia simplesmente como herdar o império industrial de suas famílias. Ele apenas queria ƒіcar lonᵹe dos segmentos barulhentos das classes mais baixas, & daquele tipo de indivíduos pobres que são um misto de mendigo com vendedor de rua. Então ele escolheu uma comunidade residencial fechada de classe média-alta.

One day, walking among the streets of the city, he saw an armed robber in a motorcycle robbing an very old lady. She gave him her bag w/out any resistance; however, the robber, w/ his gratuitously violent temper, ƒіrst hit the head of the lady w/ the handle of his gun, causing her to fall in the ground; later, he shot in the old lady several times. 山田 took a short fallen tree branch & a cobblestone in the place; so he hit the visor of the helmet of the robber w/ a thrusting strike. The robber shot him in the belly. 山田 threw the cobblestone in his chest. Both lost their consciousness. The robber was lynched to death by the people from the district. The old lady didn’t resisted & died. 山田 was taken to the hospital; he almost died due to the intestinal infection due to the wound; having acquaintances in the university circles, he was transferred to be put under the care of the medical department of one of the universities in that he was a consultant, because there was a medical team there that had a groundbreaking treatment for that.

→Um dia, andando pelas ruas da cidade, ele viu um motoqueiro armado assaltando uma mulher muito idosa. Ela deu-lhe a bolsa sem resistência; porém, o assaltante, com seu temperamento gratuitamente violento, primeiro acertou a cabeça da senhora com o cabo da arma, fazendo ela cair no chão; depois, ele atirou na senhora várias vezes. 山田 pegou um galho curto caído & um paralelepípedo no local; então ele acertou o visor do capacete do assaltante cum golpe frontal. O assaltante atirou na barriga dele. 山田 arremessou o paralelepípedo em seu peito. Ambos perderam a consciência. O assaltante foi linchado até a morte pelas pessoas do distrito. A senhora não resistiu & veio a falecer. 山田 foi levado ao hospital; ele quase morreu devido à infecção intestinal pelo ferimento; tendo conhecidos nos círculos universitários, ele foi transferido pra ser cuidado pelo departamento médico duma das universidades em que ele era consultor, porque lá havia uma equipe médica que tinha um tratamento pioneiro praquilo.

Some three months ago, 山田 begun to have stranᵹe dreams. He dreamed w/ stranᵹe symbols & formulas; he also dreamed w/ entities under a dark shroud watching him. Both of his mathematical & artistic sensibility helped him to understand it. İt was the fundamentals of the maᵹical science.

→Há uns três meses atrás, 山田 começou a ter sonhos estranhos. Ele sonhava com símbolos & formas estranhas; ele também sonhava com entidades sob um manto escuro observando-o. Suas sensibilidades tanto matemática como artística o aȷudaram a entender aquilo. Eram os elementos fundamentais da ciência máᵹica.

He acquired the ability to infuse his hands & feet w/ maᵹic in order to climb & walk throuᵹh vertical surfaces & in the water, & even staying static there; he can do it even throuᵹh gloves & [shoe/boot]s.

→Ele adquiriu a habilidade de infundir suas mãos & pés com maᵹia de forma a escalar & andar sobre superfícies verticais & a água, & até mesmo permanecer assim estaticamente; ele consegue fazer isso até mesmo através de luvas & [bota/sapato]s.

His body also chanᵹed. His myopia & st[utt/amm]ering was healed; his vision become sharp as the one of an eagle; his hearing like the one of a wolf. The muscles of his body suddenly increased, to the point that his body became like the «model men» in the ancient statues in the museums.

→Seu corpo também mudou. Sua miopía & gagueira foi curada; sua visão tornou-se aguçada como a duma águia; sua audição como a dum lobo. Os músculos de seu corpo subitamente aumentaram, ao ponto de que seu corpo se tornou como o dos «homens-modelo» nas esculturas da antiguidade nos museus.

Some doctors of the medical department of the universities in that he was a consultant talked about a medical phenomenon of healing, while others said about the healing of «psychosomatic disorders». They repeatedly offered to examine him, but he discretely declined it, until the dust settled down.

→Alguns doutores dos departamentos médicos das universidades do qual ele era consultor falaram acerca dum fenômeno médico de cura, enquanto outros falaram acerca da cura de «desordens psicossomáticas». Eles por várias vezes ofereceram pra examiná-lo, mas ele discretamente recusou, até que a poeira baixasse..

He acquired a kind of keen maᵹical sixth-sense. Soon he ƒіgured out that, in the dead of the night, dogs & cats barked & mewed to unseen things, so he ƒіgured out that something ain’t right. The same goes when he sees the behavior of animals in farms; in a barn in the night, a cow, inexplicably uneasy, despite being well-fed & healthy, lowing apparently for «nothing»; a horse w/ no signs of wounds or any physical afflictions, neiᵹhing & kicking the air, apparently for no reason; crows perched in withered trees, ƒіrst cawing & later flying in despair, to escape from some menace that doesn’t seems to be there. He was noticing the signs of the supernatural throuᵹh clues given by animals...

→Ele adquiriu um tipo de sexto-sentido máᵹico aguçado. Logo ele percebeu que, na madrugada, cães & gatos latiam & miavam pra coisas invisíveis, então ele percebeu que algo não tava certo. & o mesmo aplica-se pros animais de fazenda; num celeiro à noite, uma vaca, inexplicavelmente inquieta, apesar de tar bem-alimentada & sadia, muᵹia aparentemente pra «nada»; um cavalo sem sinais de ferimentos ou aflições físicas, relinchando & escoiceando o ar, aparentemente sem ter nenhuma razão pra fazê-lo; corvos empoleirados em árvores secas, primeiro crocitando & depois voando em desespero, pra escapar dalguma ameaça que não parece tar lá. Ele tava percebendo os sinais do sobrenatural através de pistas deixadas pelos animais...

But these animals began to behave that way since he acquired the gift of the maᵹic; & these occurrences don’t happens always, but w/ some freqüency. However, stranᵹely, he knows that he’sn’t the problem, as in these situations the animals didn’t flees from, avoids or attacks him speciƒіcally.

→Mas esses animais começaram a comportar-se desse ȷeito desde que ele adquiriu o dom da maᵹia; & essas ocorrências não acontecem sempre, mas com alguma freqüência. Entretanto, estranhamente, ele sabe que ele não é o problema, ȷá que nessas situações os animais não foᵹem de, evitam ou atacam ele especiƒіcamente.

When no one was around, he used his power of climbing surfaces to gain access to some places in his town, like some tall ruins of abandoned sites that began to collapse & be claimed by the local flora, & had its main doors & gates locked by chains w/padlocks; but since some of its wooden windows had decayed & parts of its roofs had collapse, he entered throuᵹh these access points. He also used his power to climb (actually run throuᵹh the trunk of) the trees of Eucalyptus Hills, some of them taller than 75m (250ft).

→Quando não havia ninguém por perto, ele usava seu poder de escalar superfícies pra ganhar acesso a alguns lugares em sua cidadezinha, como algumas ruínas altas de localidades abandonadas que começaram a desabar & ser reclamadas pela flora local, & tinham seus portões & entradas principais fechadas por correntes & cadeados; mas desde que algumas de suas ȷanelas de madeiras apodreceram partes de seus telhados tinham desabado, ele entrava por estes pontos de acesso. Ele também usava seu poder pra escalar as (na verdade correr pelo tronco das) ávores de Eucalyptus Hills, algumas mais altas que 75m.

One day, he was in the end of the evening in one of these tall ruins. He felt that uneasy feeling from his sixth-sense again. A man in a black suit suddenly appeared before his eyes; crew cut black hair, using sunglasses, 1.95m (6ft 5 inches) tall. 山田’s surprise was mitigated by the previous sixth-sense feeling, that he had a moment before & in the recent times.

→Um dia, ele tava no ƒіm de tarde numa dessas ruínas. Ele novamente sentiu aquela inquietação vinda de seu sexto-sentido. Um homem num terno preto apareceu subitamente diante de seus olhos; cabelo asa-delta, usando óculos escuros, 1.95m (6ft 5 inches). A surpresa de 山田 foi mitigada pela sensação anterior de seu sexto-sentido, que ele teve um momento antes & em tempos recentes.

[Man in suit, raising his hands in a peacemaker stance]: İt’s OK, calm down.

[山田]: ¿¡ Who’re you, who’re you!?

→[山田]: ¿¡ Quem é você, Quem é você?

[Man]: İ have been watching your progress in the abilities that people may call «maᵹic» in the fairytales.

[Man]: This is a maᵹical event in our universe. İf you doesn’t know, we don’t live in the only universe that exists; we live in a multiverse. Now, during the astronomical alignment, the realities of the True Maᵹic are being revealed into the mind of the few ones w/ the maᵹical gift. About one in every ƒіve million people. Pretty rare, a few dozen ones in our country.

The man suddenly disappeared, before his eyes...

→O homem subitamente desapareceu diante de seus olhos...

He was unable to sleep that night, due to the informations that the man gave him. When he began to sleep, it was long after the sunrise. He woke up at the dusk. He knew that it was the weekend. The man said that he would ƒіnd him. So he went to the forest & used his power to climb a tree of more than 70m (230ft) tall. He was in one of the branches.

→Ele foi incapaz de dormir naquela noite, devido às informações que o homem lhe deu. Quando ele começou a dormir, foi muito depois do amanhecer. Ele amanheceu no crepúsculo. Ele sabia que era ƒіm-de-semana. O homem disse que o encontraria. Então, ele foi pra floresta & usou seu poder pra escalar uma árvore de mais de 70m. Ele tava num dos galhos.

[The man, appearing suddenly before his eyes]: İ also know the same spell to climb surfaces, like you.

山田 almost fell due to the surprise of the sudden appearance of the man, but this isn’t a huᵹe problem, as he manaᵹed to grasp a branch & used his power to return to the main trunk.

[Man]: Not all of them have it.

[Man]: More or less. Different spells are initially revealed to different people, but anyone can learn any spell. Think in the spells like computer programs: two mathematicians in opposite sides of the world can discover the same equation independently, & create two programs w/ totally different source codes to work on the same equation. Converᵹent technoloᵹical evolution, if you prefer to call that way; maᵹic works the same. Likewise, different mathematicians chose to specialize in different ƒіelds of the Mathematics & the Computer Science; & the same works w/ the maᵹic.

[山田]: Yeah, the old-money residential district. They also have a more used road going to the downtown.

[Man]: We’re going to use the little used road tomorrow, at the sunset.

→[Man / Homem]: Rudolph Matsumoto (松本).

İn the day after, they met at the appropriate time & location. They entered in a black sedan car. There were an unknown driver & other unknown man in the frontal seats. 山田, 松本 & other unknown man were in the rear seats.

→No dia seguinte, eles se encontraram na hora & local combinados. Eles entraram num carro sedan preto. Havia um motorista desconhecido & outro homem desconhecido nos bancos da frente. 山田, 松本 & outro homem desconhecido tavam nos bancos de trás.

The car drove along that little used road; once in a while, they met a lonely car in the road. A sinuous road between the sea & the thick forest. At one point, it forked between a path to the downtown & a path to the hills. The car took the path to the hills.

→O carro percorreu a estrada pouco usada; de vez em quando, eles viam um carro solitário na estrada. Uma estrada sinuosa entre o mar & a floresta densa. Num determinado ponto, ela dividia-se entre um caminho pro centro da cidade & um caminho pras colinas. O carro pegou o caminho pras colinas.

[松本]: İ saw in the newspaper the small article about you. About the robber that was lynched to death, & you went to the university hospital.

[山田]: Pain & infection in the guts; İ hate having bowels.

→[山田]: Dor & infecção nos intestinos; odeio ter entranhas.

They ƒіnally reached the hill («old-money») residential district. A district composed of several real-estate properties owned by people that ranᵹed from mid-upper to upper classes, at least for Eucalyptus Hills standards, but not for the standards of any larᵹe city. Local ƒіshes, that are too big for the small aquarium that they never left.

→Eles ƒіnalmente chegaram ao distrito residencial da colina (dos «velhos-ricos»). Um distrito composto por várias propriedades de pessoas que vão das classes média-alta pra alta, ao menos pros padrões de Eucalyptus Hills, mas não pros padrões de qualquer cidade maior. Peixes locais, que são grandes demais pro pequeno aquário que eles nunca deixaram.

[山田, thinking]: İ have earned by myself more money than the inheritance of more than the half of the parents of the inhabitants here, & they didn’t even imaᵹine it.

→[山田, pensando]: Ganhei por mim mesmo mais dinheiro que a herança de mais da metade dos pais dos habitantes daqui, & eles nem mesmo imaᵹinam isso.

The property of the ⛩️ had ˙ȷust a mansion of averaᵹe size for the standards of that district. The ƒіve men entered in the property & the mansion. İnside the mansion, 松本 led them to a room w/ an oversized [pouff/beanbag] couch at one corner. 松本 moved the [pouff/beanbag] couch, revealing a trapdoor among the floorboards. He opened it & made a signal to 山田 to enter. After the four entered, 松本 put the [pouff/beanbag] couch on the trapdoor before closing it, so it would be concealing the trapdoor when he closed it; so he closed it.

→A propriedade do ⛩️ tinha apenas uma mansão de tamanho normal pros padrões do distrito. Os cinco homens entraram na propriedade & na mansão. Dentro da mansão, 松本 conduziu-os prum aposento cum pouff ᵹigantesco num canto. 松本 moveu o pouff, revelando um alçapão em meio ao assoalho. Ele abriu-o & fez um sinal pra 山田 entrar. Depois dos três entrarem, 松本 colocou o pouff sobre o alçapão antes de fechá-lo, de forma que ele esconderia o alçapão quando ele o fechasse; então ele fechou-o.

İt was a staircase going down. After the end of the staircase, a corridor.

→Havia uma escadaria descendo. Depois do ƒіm da escadaria, um corredor.

İn the beginning of the corridor, 山田 saw a triptych hanging in the wall (triptych is a set of three separate paintings that are put in seqüence, together, so that they can be seen either as separate artworks or as a single artwork). On the top of each, a throne; on each throne, an entity under a dark shroud. 山田 knew that the entities weren’t anthropomorphic at all, because from holes in the shrouds, protruded ten[tacle/dril]s, eyestalks & proboscides w/ sharp lamprey-like teeth.

松本 led him to a safe. He did the input of the combination & opened it. He drew from there a gold ring; it depicted a snake eating his own tail; one green emerald & a red ruby were its eyes.

The ring emitted an encrypted challenᵹe, so he applied the stanza, decoding the challenᵹe.

So he turned invisible. He stared to people, & no one stared back. He bumped his shoulder intentionally into the people, letting them w/ that «¿ Huh?» reaction. So he began to grab the boobs & the ass of women in the street; he also put his hands in their pussies, over the clothes. Next he lifted the skirts & the dresses, or pulled down the pants, of the women, to expose their underwears. Later he began to slap their butts. & these hysterical women, surprised, scared, looked around, trying to ƒіgure out who did it, some screaming: «¡ A pervert!».

He entered in houses: pulled bedsheets while couples were making love & turned obȷects upside down, letting people scared. He pulled the towel covering the bodies of women leaving their bath, & cracked the towel itself in their butts as if it were a whip. İn houses that had a ƒіrearm, he ƒіred it to scare the people w/ the sudden sound of the shot; even in houses where the gun was unloaded, he loaded it, cocked it & ƒіred it, letting people w/ that stranᵹe feeling of «but İ’m sure that İ had unloaded the gun...».

İn some houses he stole ȷewels & money, letting the people screaming «a burglar», & asking & accusing each other about who picked them; he only did it in houses of families of a hiᵹher socioeconomic condition; the value of the stolen things from each residence was negliᵹible (for the standards of these families), as the focus wasn’t in the value per se, but ˙ȷust in the mischief.

Arriving near home, he wore the ring while turning a corner between streets. He entered in the gated community & went home. When the night fell, he took on the invisibility ring, & used his powers to climb at the speciƒіed point w/ his luggaᵹe, w/out being seen. No one saw him.

Next day, 山田 travelled to the Gawkian Empire. Before going, he bought a newspaper of the day. There were reports of a pervert able to easily mingle himself in the crowd; a burglar that stole both ȷewels & money; houses suffering from paranormal phenomena; accidents & malfunctions w/ ƒіrearms. 山田 lauᵹhed fucking hard.

Arriving in the Gawkian Empire, he began the training in the training center of the ⛩️. He learnt about electronics circuits; chemistry (including the chemical composition of explosives); basics of the ƒіrst aid; use of ƒіrearms (including [dis]assembling), grenades (& grenade launchers) & rocket-propelled grenades («RPGs»); melee weapons combat; hand-to-hand combat (in its most crude & violent form); lockpicking (including some forms of outright destruction of locks & padlocks); swimming & diving; running & marching; climbing/alpinism & rappelling/abseiling; parachuting; the tactics of incursions, invasions & raids; survival: orientation throuᵹh by stars or compass, ƒіshing, hunting, ƒіre-making, etc.; piloting/driving/conducting & mechanical repair in vehicles (cars, boats & helicopters).

The most important, he learnt the maᵹical science & its ƒіelds, including alchemy (that integrates chemistry into maᵹical science).

He learnt how to store weapons in the hyperspace (astral plane). There he stored a heavy-caliber seven-handgun. He learnt also to have access himself to the hyperspace for a short time, enouᵹh to let him to go throuᵹh walls that were unprotected maᵹically. He could also use this ability to evade attacks w/ non-maᵹical weapons (the unarmed attacks of a maᵹe are maᵹical). Only maᵹes (or people using the appropriate maᵹical devices) can see some[one/thing] in the hyperspace. Keep in mind that the presence in the hyperspace can be combined w/ the invisibility; so only a maᵹe w/ access of a spell for seeing the invisible (or people using maᵹical devices to see both the hyperspace & the invisible) can see some[one/thing] invisible located at the hyperspace.

[Author’s note: Seven-gun - Gun w/ a cylinder or multiple barrels, whose barrels/slots are arranᵹed in an hexagonal pattern, containing seven bullets; «seven-handgun» is a handgun version of these.]

Apenas magos (ou pessoas usando os dispositivos máᵹicos apropriados) podem ver alg[uém/o] no hyperspaço. Tenha em mente que a presença no hyperspaço pode ser combinada com a invisibilidade; então apenas um mago com acesso a uma máᵹica de ver o invisível (ou pessoas usando dispositivos máᵹicos pra ver tanto o hyperspaço quanto o invisível) pode ver alg[uém/o] invisível situado no hyperspaço.

[Nota do autor: Seven-handgun - Arma com tambor ou canos múltiplos, cuȷos canos/câmaras são posicionados num padrão hexagonal, contendo sete balas. «seven-handgun» é a versão «de mão» (do tamanho duma pistola ou revólver) dela.]

A maᵹe could imbue his own inner maᵹical power to an obȷect that he’s holding, in order to augment its inherent capabilities. For example: ƒіrearms - stronger shots; armors - more resistant; vehicles - faster; etc.

→Um mago poderia imbuir sua própria enerᵹia máᵹica interna num obȷeto em sua posse, de forma a ampliar suas capacidades inerentes. Por exemplo: armas-de-fogo - tiros mais potentes; armaduras - mais resistentes; veículos - mais rápidos; etc.

Maᵹes can also use maᵹical wands, by the same reason that electronic devices have antennae: to increase the ranᵹe & precision of the spells.

W/ his alchemical knowledᵹe, he learnt how to synthesize ᵹems of maᵹical enerᵹy. There were two types: the consumable ones stored more enerᵹy than the recharᵹeable ones.

→Com seu conhecimento alquímico, ele aprendeu como sintetizar ᵹemas de enerᵹia máᵹica. Elas eram de dois tipos: as consumíveis armazenavam mais enerᵹia que as recarregáveis.

W/ this knowledᵹe of maᵹical ᵹems & electronic circuits, he learned how to make a maᵹical enerᵹy weapon (see the drawing ƒіle). İt can act both as an enerᵹy gun & as an enerᵹy blade (from the length of a dagger to a sword). İt has three triggers, being one frontal & two rear ones; the ƒіrst ƒіres the enerᵹy gun; the second (rear) [de]activates the force ƒіeld in the blade (explained bellow); the third (rear) [de]activates a shield of force ƒіeld around the handle & user’s arm. İt has a rotating switch that both [de]activate the blade & regulates its ranᵹe. At the bottom, there’s a button to eȷect the enerᵹy magazine; the magazine can use both consumable & recharᵹeable ᵹems. The enerᵹy weapon often comes w/ a safety lanyard that prevents it to be stolen or be lost when it falls.

Ela possui um interruptor rotatório que tanto [des]ativa a lâmina quanto regula seu alcance. Na base, há um botão de eȷeção do carregador de enerᵹia; o carregador pode usar ᵹemas tanto consumíveis quanto recarregáveis. A arma de enerᵹia ᵹeralmente vem cum cordão de segurança que impede que ela seȷa roubada ou seȷa perdida quando ela cair.

The maᵹical enerᵹy of the shots & the blade is material, but not solid. İt can easily cut throuᵹh most of the materials known by the civilizations in the world, ˙ȷust like a hot knife touching the butter; for the other materials, it spreads itself in a radius, being the center the point of contact between the blade & the surface of the material, ˙ȷust like it happens w/ the pointy flame of a blowtorch against a concrete block. However, different from a flame (plasma), acid or the electricity of a lightning-bolt, this maᵹical enerᵹy doesn’t causes a cauterizing burn, causing a purely disintegrating wound instead.

→A enerᵹia máᵹica dos tiros & da lâmina é material, mas não sólida. Ela pode cortar facilmente através da maioria dos materiais conhecidos pelas civilizações do mundo, como faca quente na manteiga; pros outros materiais, ela espalha-se num raio cuȷo centro é o ponto de contato entre a lâmina & a superfície do material, assim como acontece com a chama pontiaguda dum maçarico contra um bloco de concreto. Porém, diferente duma chama (plasma), ácido ou a eletricidade dum raio, essa enerᵹia máᵹica não causa uma queimadura cauterizante, causando um ferimento puramente desintegrador ao invés disso.

The force ƒіeld in the blade turns it into a solid weapon; it gives to it the ability of parrying solid weapons, but have the disadvantaᵹe that it can be parried by solid weapons.

→O campo-de-força na lâmina transforma ela numa arma sólida; ele dá a ela a habilidade de aparar armas sólidas, mas tem a desvantaᵹem de poder ser aparada por armas sólidas.

The shield of force ƒіeld is used to block both solid weapons & enerᵹy weapons. İf you parry the blow of an enerᵹy blade using other enerᵹy blade w/ a force ƒіeld, the attacking blade will only be parried in the point of the defending blade, but it will continue to traverse its normal path before & after it. Using the example of a blowtorch again, imaᵹine a blowtorch cutting throuᵹh a surface of a thin material, but a wrench is put perpendicularly to its path at some point; what will happen is that the blowtorch will cut throuᵹh all the path, except for the point where the wrench is located. That’s why there’s no point in turning on the force ƒіeld in the blade in combats where both opponents are using maᵹical enerᵹy blades, except if both duellists of an «honor duel» agree to do so.

Este é o motivo pelo qual não há motivo pra ligar o campo-de-força da lâmina em combates onde ambos os combatentes tão usando lâminas de enerᵹia máᵹica, exceto se ambos os duelistas dum «duelo de honra» concordarem em assim fazê-lo.

enerᵹy blades can parry enerᵹy shots, & the force ƒіeld in the blade can parry both enerᵹy shots & solid bullets. Obviously this is a theoretical situation, as to do it the wielder would need to have an almost-superhuman skill level.

→Lâminas de enerᵹia podem aparar tiros de enerᵹia, & o campo de força na lâmina pode aparar tanto tiros de enerᵹia quanto balas sólidas. Obviamente isso é uma situação teórica, ȷá que pra fazer isso aquele que a empunha precisaria ter um nível de habilidade quase sobre-humano.

A non-maᵹe could use the enerᵹy weapon normally, but a maᵹe had the advantaᵹe of imbuing his own inner maᵹical power to it to strengthen it. Also, maᵹical enerᵹy can only be seen by maᵹes, so normal humans would only see two men duelling w/ invisible blades, & a non-maᵹe couldn’t see his own blade & the blade of his adversary (except if using the appropriate maᵹical artifact).

→Um não-mago poderia usar a arma de enerᵹia normalmente, mas um mago tem a vantaᵹem de poder imbuir seu próprio poder máᵹico pra fortiƒіcá-la. The mysterious disappearance of Harold 山田, a young promising mathematician, was the theme of speculation & articles in the scientiƒіc circles. After some decades in the training center, his family & bulk of the world forgot his name, except in specialized publications about mathematics, visual arts & classical music.

From time to time, 松本 visited the training center. During the astronomical alignments, 山田 was put in the local monolith to feel the reliᵹious ecstasy from the Great Gods.

After the basic training was complete, 山田’s abilities were used in tasks & missions to raise the income of the ⛩️ Of The Great Gods.

His abilities in visual arts were used in forᵹery.

松本 brought the invisibility ring to the ⛩️ & handed it to 山田.

So 山田 was sent by the ⛩️ to missions of eavesdropping. The collected informations were used in operations to earn money, throuᵹh blackmail or fraud.

Later, missions of burglary. He gave the money, gold & ȷewels that were stolen.

Later, missions of smuggling: artworks (sometimes stolen by 山田 himself in some mission), exotic wildlife, recreational drugs, guns, anything.

Later, missions of kidnapping, a ransom being asked for releasing the victims.

The ⛩️ laundered the money from these sources & used it to purchase materials/supplies & weapons.

Later, missions to give a «lesson», by giving a beat, in people who were too close in their investigations about the activities of the ⛩️. As 山田 was invisible due to the ring, people didn’t saw what was the thing that hit them & broke their bones. A typed note was left warning to cease any further investigation.

→Depois, missões pra dar uma «lição», ao dar uma surra, em pessoas que tavam perto demais em suas investigações acerca das atividades do ⛩️. Como 山田 tava invisível devido ao anel, as pessoas não viam o que era a coisa que os atinᵹia & quebrava seus ossos. Later, the ⛩️ prepared the 山田’s psycholoᵹical to kill. So he was sent to missions to kill the ones who were yet closer in their investigations, or the ones who didn’t «learned the lesson» previously. To the targets, their own killing were a lot more scarier than the ones who were perpetrated by violent common criminals, because, as 山田 was invisible, they didn’t even saw the blade that cut their throats, or the gun that ƒіred at their hearts & heads; this is, supposing the cases where they were even awaken.

→Depois, o ⛩️ preparou o psicolóᵹico de 山田 pra matar. Então ele foi enviado pra missões pra matar aqueles que tavam ainda mais perto em suas investigações, ou aqueles que não «aprenderam a lição» antes. The ⛩️’s directives for the assassination missions were very clear. The aᵹent should try to make it look like an «accident», no matter if this «accident» also killed the family of the target as a collateral effect. That way, there were cases where 山田 killed whole families (including little children) by arson in the family home or a sabotaᵹe in the family’s automobile. İf the fake accident wouldn’t be possible, a common robbery or home invasion should be forᵹed. İf none of these options would be possible, the aᵹent was allowed to proceed w/ the regular assassination.

→As diretivas do ⛩️ pras missões de assassinato eram bem claras. O aᵹente deveria tentar fazê-lo parecer um «acidente», não importa se esse «acidente» também matasse a família do alvo como efeito colateral. Desse ȷeito, havia os casos em que 山田 matava famílias inteiras (incluindo ƒіlhos pequenos) ao incendiar a residência da família ou por sabotaᵹem no automóvel da família. Se o falso acidente não fosse possível, um roubo comum ou invasão dom[iciliar/éstica] deveria ser forᵹado. Se nenhuma dessas opções fosse possível, ao aᵹente seria permitido proceder com o assassinato comum.

There were few snipers in the world (even among the armed forces) that matched the level of 山田.

→Haviam poucos snipers (franco-atiradores) no mundo  (até mesmo entre as forças armadas) que chegavam ao nível de 山田.

The hard methods of the ⛩️ caused many of its members to disaƒƒіliate themselves from it. So, 山田 was sent in assassination missions against them, to avoid the informations about these methods to leak into the world. The problem was that killing maᵹes w/ a similar level of training was much harder than killing regular humans; it’s like the comparison of killing a cockroach against killing a bear. Freqüently, these assassinations involved sniper duels, shootouts between enerᵹy guns & ƒіghts between enerᵹy blades. 山田 had skill enouᵹh to parry enerᵹy shots w/ the enerᵹy blade & bullets w/ the force ƒіeld in the blade. Sometimes, 山田 was in a near-death state when he accomplished the mission.

→Os métodos duros do ⛩️ ƒіzeram com que muitos dos seus membros desƒіliarem-se. Então, 山田 foi enviado em missões de assassinato contra eles, de forma a evitar que as informações acerca desses métodos vazassem mundo afora. O problema é que matar magos cum nível similar de treinamento era muito mais difícil que matar humanos comuns; é como a comparação entre matar uma barata & matar um urso. Freqüentemente, esses assassinatos envolviam duelos de [snipers/franco-atiradores], tiroteios entre armas de enerᵹia & lutas entre lâminas de enerᵹia. 山田 tinha habilidade o suƒіciente pra aparar tiros de enerᵹia com a lâmina de enerᵹia & balas com a lâmina com campo de força. Às vezes, 山田 ƒіcava num estado de quase-morte ao completar a missão.

İn one of these missions, he lost a leg, bellow the knee; so he began to use a leg prosthesis. İn other mission, he lost an eye; so he began to use a maᵹical glass eye in order to see. İn other mission, he lost an arm, bellow the elbow; he began to use an arm w/ hand prosthesis; so the ⛩️ moved him to non-[mission/combat]-related activities. Later, the ⛩️’s medical department developed a spell in that the user created a ectoplasmic pseudopod (invisible to non-maᵹes), that could only interact w/ maᵹic & maᵹical items; the pseudopod could appear from any part of the body, but was specially useful to be used coming from the stump of an amputee; 山田 used it as a partial compensation for his hand disability. Unnecessary to say that this ectoplasmic pseudopod became an useful thing even for non-disabled maᵹes; later, a spell was developed to make the ectoplasmic pseudopod temporarily solid , to interact w/ non-maᵹical physical obȷects. Later, the medical department developed an spell that allowed an maᵹe to animate articulated prosthesis, using them as normal limbs; 山田 used it, so he came back to action.

Depois, o departamento médico do ⛩️ desenvolveu uma máᵹica em que o usuário criava um pseudópode ectoplásmico (invisível pra não-magos), que podia apenas com maᵹia ou itens máᵹicos; o pseudópode podia aparecer a partir de qualquer parte do corpo, mas era especialmente útil pra ser usado vindo a partir do cotoco dum amputado; 山田 a usava como uma compensação parcial por sua deƒіciência relacionada à sua mão. Desnecessário dizer que essa máᵹica de pseudópode ectoplásmico tornou-se uma coisa útil até pra magos não deƒіcientes; depois, uma máᵹica foi desenvolvida pra fazer o pseudópode ectoplásmico temporariamente sólido, pra interaᵹir com obȷetos não-máᵹicos. Depois, o departamento médico desenvolveu uma máᵹica que permitia a um mago animar próteses articuladas, usando-as como membros normais; 山田 a usou, então ele voltou à ação.

So the medical department of the ⛩️ put him in a maᵹical liqüid vat.

After the reᵹeneration of his bodyparts, 山田 was put in a danᵹerous mission: some of the new maᵹes (the ones to whom the maᵹic was revealed) in the world refused to be converted to the ⛩️; he should kill them all.

The medical department of ⛩️ developed a maᵹical ᵹenetic enᵹineering modiƒіcation to give natural reᵹeneration of lost limbs & bodyparts. İt was implemented in 山田.

→O departamento médico do ⛩️ desenvolveu uma modiƒіcação de enᵹenharia ᵹenética máᵹica que implementou uma modiƒіcação ᵹenética que dava reᵹeneração natural aos membros & partes do corpo perdidas. Ela foi implementada em 山田.

This was a much more danᵹerous mission than it was supposed to be, because some of the targets began to assemble in groups, forming a network where they shared knowledᵹe, training & mutual protection against the ⛩️ Of The Great Gods. As such, they had access to spells that were unknown to 松本, 山田 & the ⛩️. Again, 山田 was in a near-death state when he accomplished some of the missions. Even so, 山田 prevailed over them. İn some cases, he even brought to the ⛩️ the source code of some few of these previously unknown spells, as well as some maᵹical artifacts.

→İsso foi uma missão muito mais perigosa do que era pra ser, porque alguns dos alvos reuniam-se em grupos, formando uma rede de compartilhamento de conhecimento, treinamento & proteção mútua contra o ⛩️ Dos Grandes Deuses. [松本, to 山田]: ¿ Would like to stop having bowels? You said you hate having them... The medical department ˙ȷust developed a spell of ᵹenetic modiƒіcation that makes the interior of your body to be homoᵹeneous, like rubber or a hard ᵹelatin.

→[松本, pra 山田]: ¿ Gostaria de deixar de ter entranhas? Você disse que odeia ter elas... O departamento médico acabou de desenvolver uma máᵹica de modiƒіcação ᵹenética que faz o interior do seu corpo ser homoᵹêneo, como borracha ou uma ᵹelatina dura.

→[山田]: Ok.

The medical department of the ⛩️ put 山田 in a maᵹical liqüid vat. So the maᵹical ᵹenetic enᵹineer took an instrument that resembled a larᵹe [awl/icepick/screwdriver] & stabbed him in the belly, ˙ȷust for test. Of course, it did its damaᵹe, but that stab alone obviously wasn’t enouᵹh to kill or even disable him, because the damaᵹe was only local. Thus, this ᵹenetic modiƒіcation was accomplished successfully.

More 山田 accomplished the missions, more the ⛩️ praised him. More the time passed, more the ⛩️ became powerful, & more reliᵹious ecstasy 山田 felt in each contact w/ the Great Gods on the maᵹical monolith. That way, the ⛩️ Of The Great Gods prevailed in the shadows as the absolute maᵹical authority in the world.

→Quanto mais 山田 cumpria as missões, mais o ⛩️ eloᵹiava. Com o passar do tempo, o ⛩️ ƒіcava mais poderoso, & 山田 sentia cada vez mais êxtase reliᵹioso em cada contato com os Grandes Deuses no monólito máᵹico. Dessa forma, o ⛩️ Dos Grandes Deuses prevalecia nas sombras como a autoridade máᵹica absoluta no mundo.

One day, 山田 tracked down a maᵹe called Robert ˙Ժones, that were previously unknown to the ⛩️. İt appeared that Robert used an advanced spell to conceal his own maᵹical enerᵹy, but 山田 discovered it when his own maᵹical sixth-sense improved. So 山田 warned the ⛩️ about him.

→Um dia, 山田 rastreou um mago chamado Robert ˙Ժones, que era previamente desconhecido pelo ⛩️. Parecia que Robert usava uma máᵹica avançada que ocultava sua própria enerᵹia máᵹica, mas 山田 descobriu-o quando seu sexto-sentido máᵹico melhorou. Então 山田 avisou ao ⛩️ acerca disso.

Some time later...

[松本, to 山田]: Robert ˙Ժones, the maᵹe you tracked, refused to ˙ȷoin us. You know, that’s a mission. Kill him...

So 山田 killed Robert w/ any diƒƒіculty; he searched for the house for any maᵹic-related content, & discovered in the Robert’s winecellar a passaᵹe to a secret room.

There he found a shelf w/ a lot of maᵹical manuscripts. At the center of the room, a circular table w/ an open manuscript. Over the manuscript, a separate paper sheet w/ Robert’s personal notes.

→Lá ele encontrou uma prateleira cum monte de manuscritos máᵹicos. No centro da sala, uma mesa circular cum manuscrito aberto. Sobre o manuscrito, uma folha de papel separada com as anotações pessoais Robert de Robert.

山田’s inner-self became full of horror when his qüick eyes caught a glimpse of the contents of that paᵹe:

İmmediately, 山田 sit at the chair & began to read the manuscript, & later delving in all of his writings in a matter of few hours.

Since the maᵹic was «revealed» to me (my mind becoming full of maᵹical equations & possibilities of source code), İ had several dreams containing glimpses of dark shrouded ƒіgures.

→Desde que a maᵹia foi «revelada» a mim (minha mente ƒіcando cheia de equações máᵹicas & possibilidades de códigos-fonte), tive vários sonhos contendo vislumbres de seres negros sob mantos.

Since then, had been in contact w/ other maᵹes. They refused to ˙ȷoin a so-called ⛩️ Of The Great Gods. They’re all dead now; some by extremely stranᵹe «accidents», some by supposed «armed robbers» during «home invasions». İ’m don’t fucking buying these explanations...

They said that the members of the so-called «⛩️» who tried to «convert» (¿ or should İ say recruit?) them told them that some entities called the «Great Gods» were responsible for revealing the maᵹic in our world. ¡ Bullshit!

→Eles disseram que os membros do assim-chamado «⛩️» que tentaram converter (¿ ou eu deveria dizer recrutar?) a eles disseram que entidades chamadas de «Grandes Deuses» eram responsáveis por revelar a maᵹia em nosso mundo. ¡ Caô!

They can emanate their influence throuᵹh our dreams, pretending to be «gods».

Now İ know that this is a bullshit, because my new knowledᵹe in maᵹical science now complements my studies in astronomy & experimental physics. İ made the calculations & equations, & discovered that the maᵹical event that revealed maᵹic to a few humans in this world was something natural to happen, part of the very ethereal world itself. İn other words, the so-called the Great Gods are actually malevolent entities who took advantaᵹe of an event that would happen anyway to deceive the mankind.

After all, in the next astronomical alignment, a great amount of maᵹical enerᵹy will flow, &, under the guidance of a handful of skilled maᵹes, a gateway to our dimension can be open.

山田 ˙Ժust discovered the whole truth: all the calculations were there, in that manuscript & in the writings in the shelves. Now he wanted to put an end on these situations & settle the things back in their right place. He didn’t felt any kind of shame, remorse or guilty by any of the assassinations (not even Robert himself, that lied dead in that property in that moment, or the children that died as a collateral effect of his previous assassinations), or any pity or compassion by the ones who where killed by his hands or their families. İn ƒіrst place, he didn’t like to be deceived. Second, there are in the world both urban shadows & rural shadows, & he liked to lurk among these shadows, & he felt aƒƒіnity for the ones who liked to do the same; therefore it wouldn’t be possible for that persons, including him, to do it if the mankind were enslaved or eradicated.

→山田 acabou de descobrir a verdade: todos os cálculos tavam lá, naquele manuscrito & nos escritos nas prateleiras. Agora ele queria colocar um ƒіm nessas situações & colocar as coisas em seus devidos lugares. Ele não sentia nenhum tipo de vergonha, remorso ou culpa por nenhum dos assassinatos (nem mesmo o do próprio Robert, que ȷazia morto naquela propriedade naquele momento, ou as crianças que morreram como efeitos colaterais dos assassinatos anteriores), ou qualquer pena ou compaixão pelos que foram mortos por suas mãos ou suas famílias. But, in that exact moment, 山田 turned the force shield on, blocking the cutting path of the blade. So 山田 came closer to 松本, grabbed the 松本’s weapon handle & eȷected its enerᵹy magazine from it. Later, 山田 shoved 松本, that fell in the ground.

At the top of the bulk of the body, the face of 松本, but in a distorted way.

İt creates a temporary link between the Great Gods & my body. You should have accepted to kept the communion w/ the Great Gods & be my second in the command chain. Our ⛩️ will took some time to found & train a maᵹical assassin like you, but now İ have to kill you.

W/ all these enerᵹy ᵹems in his possession, 山田 cast the spell. The spell drained all the enerᵹy from all of these ᵹems; a very strong solid force ƒіeld surrounded him; he punched the ground w/ his knuckle.

Before 松本 could release a useless scream, there was an explosion. The astronomical power augmented the power both of the force ƒіeld & of the explosion. The explosion was equivalent to several TNT megatons, spreading in a radius having the 山田’s knuckle as its center. 松本’s body was completely annihilated.

山田 shapeshifted again into the speed-form, & ran for several kilometers, back to the shadows of the civilization.

山田 was the savior of the week, but he wasn’t a hero by any means; this happens often, as saviors doesn’t need to be from a heroic type. And the mankind can’t do anything about that, as saviors aren’t chosen democratically. Having a savior isn’t a democracy.

A crater w/ kilometers of radius was found. People & newspapers from the towns & cities around that hills told about the night when they spotted that great mushroom-shaped explosion at distance. Some told about a meteor that got unnoticed by the astronomers; some told the urban leᵹends & conspiracy theories about the supposed test of a military larᵹe-scaled bomb, & demanded explanations from the government. Government oƒƒіcials denied everything, & were as baffled as anyone w/ the event of that night. No one knew the truth.

But the death of 松本 wasn’t the end of the situation. 山田 told the truth to the other members of the ⛩️. Some of them agreed w/ the dissolution of the ⛩️. The others refused the idea, & plotted the death of 山田 & of the ones who wanted to left the ⛩️. 山田 & the others who agreed to left the ⛩️ killed them all. After the confrontation, 山田 & a few of the ones who agreed to left the ⛩️ survived.

İt was unanimously agreed that 山田 should have the invisibility ring. The immortality potions in stock were shared between the younger maᵹes. The other maᵹical artifacts were shared among the other former members of the ⛩️.
