The Future Eve: Rewritten, Abridged, Ported & Expanded

Based on L'Ève Future (“The Future Eve”) by Auguste Villiers de l'İsle-Adam.

The reader DON’T need to read the original work by the writer Auguste Villiers de l'İsle-Adam in order to read this text, because the prologue already explain the main facts of that book (that is in Public Domain). So this can be read as a standalone work.

That book (and also this sequel) uses the historical person Thomas Edison, and calls him “The Magician of Menlo Park”, but this is ƒіction, with no basis in actual facts. As it was ported to a fantasy world, the historical character of Thomas Edison was replaced by the generic name of «˙Ժason Sanders».

☙Prologue: The Genesis of the Future Eve❧

˙Ժason Sanders was living like a beggar on the streets of the Kuloshian Empire, but he was saved by the Lord Celian Ewald, from the Vlaosian Empire, who gave a little bit of money to him. Some time later, Sanders he became a prosperous scientist.

Sanders had a childhood friend called Edward Anderson, who were married with Mistress Any Anderson, and they had two children. He cheated her with a ballet dancer called Evelyn Habal. He felt guilt about that, but couldn't stop the situation, so this begun to affect his career and he became bankrupt. Miss Evelyn left him when it happened. Edward committed suicide the guilt and shame of what he did. Sanders decided to ƒіnd Evelyn just to see if she is so beautiful and young as Edward said. When Sanders found her, he discovered that she was an ugly thirty four years old woman who used heavy make-up and denture to look beautiful in order to seduce Edward, and used herbs with contraceptive properties. Evelyn was ill and died some time after the Edward's death.

Any became bankrupt with Edward's death, but Sanders saved her and the two children from the poverty. However Any had an illness that made her sleep constantly. Sanders cured her using his hypnotic skills. The side-effect of this is that this arouse Medium powers in Any. Her personality as a medium was very different of her former self, and she began to use the alias of “Sowana” instead of Any. She had the ability to talk with Sanders by telepathy if both were using iron rings.

Sanders decided to make an android because if a woman can use an artiƒіcial beauty do seduce a man and destroy his life, so he can make a beautiful artiƒіcial woman that at least will not destroy the life of any man. He named his android Hadaly.

He was visited by Lord Ewald, who told that he was considering suicide due to an emotional pain caused by girlfriend, Miss Alicia Clary.

This is because the Physical beauty of Alicia doesn't match with her personality. She is so beautiful that Lord Ewald called her the “Vénus Victrix”. However, she is a golddigger. She is a woman that pays too much attention in values like materialism, common sense and social expectations.

Sanders told him the story of miss Evelyn Habal and offered him to replicate the physical looking of Alicia in Hadaly with the help of some few selected specialists. So Lord Ewald planned to break with Alicia after coming back to the Vlaosian Empire and stay with Hadaly in his castle to be recovered from his emotional pain.

Sanders explained him how the android works. For example: he can take baths, because her hermetic seal prevents the water from entering her internal mechanisms. She can use a dagger to defend herself from another men with ulterior motives, and she can make the electricity flow in the blade in the moment of the stab to shock the foe. She needs to ingest water and some chemical elements to make her maintenance once in a while. And she only travel by boat inside a casket, because she don't need to stay in the hammocks like the women that feel seasick, and this could humiliate the another women.

Alicia was invited to the Sanders's house, that used his hypnotic skills to make she lose his consciousness. So he replicated her looking into the Android with the help of some specialists. However they done it while Sanders turned off Hadaly, so they thought that they were just working on a simple common statue.

When it was ƒіnished Lord Ewald met Hadaly in the Sanders's garden and Hadaly revealed that she had a true consciousness, but asked him to don't tell that to Sanders. Later Sanders told him the history of Sowana, and Lord Ewald understood that Sowana had the ability to possess the body of the android.

Sowana possessed the Hadaly's body deƒіnitively, so Sanders found her former body dead. Lord Ewald departed with Alicia by boat back to the Vlaosian Empire, while Hadaly were at the cargo inside her wooden casket. But there was a ƒіre in the ship that caused a shipwreck, and Alicia died in this event. The ƒіre reached the cargo and destroyed the Hadaly's body. Lord Ewald tried to enter in the cargo to save Hadaly but several men had to take him by force to the lifeboat. Sanders knew about this when he read about that news in the newspaper.

☙Epilogue❧

After knowing about the shipwreck that involved his Lord Ewald, the “magician of the Kuloshian Park” (˙Ժason Sanders is called this way) invited him again to his house.

[Sanders]: ¿ What’s was the reason of your despair? ¿ Did you forgot that İ built Hadaly? She's an android. ¿ Do you really thought that İ don't have blueprints or backup plans to make another?

The face of lord Ewald changed completely.

[Ewald]: ¡ That's true! However this will cost a lot of money.

They dived near the shipwreck point and rescued the casket. This helped Sanders to salvage some of the materials, and it saved a lot of money in the rebuilding project. So Lord Ewald worked twice as normal to get the money to buy the materials and paid him. He crafted another Hadaly for him that is better than the last one because she haves some updated pieces. Sowana's spirit possessed this new Hadaly. So Sanders said to Ewald:

[Sanders]: Forget that thing of travelling in a casket. When travelling by boat just make her stay in the Hammock like the other women to fake that she also feels the seasick, just to don't humiliate the girls in the ship.

Lord Ewald got a private boat to return to the Vlaosian Empire. No more ƒіres in the cargo. So they arrived in the castle.

You don't need to worry when you have a backup blueprint of the thing that is broken (and resources to rebuild it).
